Another year gone

Wow!  14 years.  Where does the time go?  I'll tell you where it goes.  All over the place.  It's been an amazing 14 years.  We can't wait to see what the next 14 have in store for us.  It's definitely been an adventure.  We are glad we get to spend it with each other.

We celebrated by going out to dinner at a local place called Yanni's.  It was even more of a celebration because we didn't get a babysitter for the kids.  I think we have turned over a new leaf.

Here's a look back over the years...

A visit with Family

Pookie, Alex and Sophie came to visit us this past week.  We went to the zoo, the pool, the library and hung out at home.  We had lots of fun together.  We finished off the week with a trip up to Mortensen Manor.  The two days we wanted to go to the beach it was cloudy.  The kids all enjoyed hanging out with their cousins.

Adam is 10!!!!!!!!!!

Happy Birthday to the Mook-monster.  10 years old!  It's amazing that we have been able to keep him alive for this long.  He is an amazing kid.  He has a love of life and all things fun.  He never turns down the opportunity to try something new and exciting.  He never lets his health issues slow him down.  He's super smart, super funny and super amazing!!

For his birthday he wanted chocolate cake, chocolate ice cream and chocolate frosting.  He also wanted calzones for dinner.  Given the choice of a party with friends or an outing of his choice with family he chose family.  We are going to Knott's Berry Farm later this month.  I'm just glad it isn't Magic Mountain.  Like I said, he loves adventure.  That's just like Adam though.  Nothing is more important to him then family!  It's another thing that makes him special.

We got our first digital camera when Adam was only 2 months old so it is easy to document his life.

Soak City & Mission Bay

Friday seem to be our fun field trip day for summer since we have no swim team or swim lessons to deal with.  This past Friday was no different.  Some wanted to go to the beach. Lily wanted something different so we decided on Knott's Soak City!

We headed out to Chula Vista and managed to have a lovely day until they closed down the park due to a potential storm coming in.  Being a former lifeguard, I thought it was a little premature to close it down, but I'm not in charge.  We still managed to have a lot of fun and will definitely be going back again when we get a chance.  Lily wasn't a huge fan of the big water slides.  She prefers more of the slow/lazy river rides.  We all loved the wave pool.

Later that night we had a church BBQ at Mission Bay Park.  It was a relaxing evening.  The kids got back in the water and were in it til we told them to get out at 8pm.
One thing is for sure.  These kids love the water.  They must get that from me.

The Scouts are Gone

Damon and Noah were gone for a week at Scout Camp.  We didn't want to waste a week doing nothing while they were gone.  We didn't waste a minute.

Riley came to stay with us for a few days.  While she was here we went to the beach, the pool, Baskin Robbins, the movies and the grocery store.

Thursday evening we went back to Mortensen Manor to take Riley home.  We spent the night and then the next morning we went to Downtown Disney.  The kids didn't know I was taking them there.

We had lunch at Goofy's Kitchen.  We had lots of food and met lots of characters.  We shopped for a little bit, wandered around the hotel and then headed home.

Hopefully we can make it back to the Disneyland Hotel again.   The kids didn't want to leave.

Friday night the boys came back from camp, stinky and dirty.  After they showered we were glad to have them home and be together again as a family.
