August 2nd- a year in Waiting
I changed the blog page in honor of the release of the much anticipated book, Breaking Dawn. I have been patiently and not so patiently waiting for this book to come out since last September. I was first introduced to this book series then and have fallen in love with them. If you haven't read the Twilight Series yet, then get with it and go do it. You won't regret it. If you have read them, then you will understand my little obsession. (Although Damon and the kids will call it a big obsession.) When we are in the book store Lily will see one of the books and say "Hey mom, you have that book!", or "I like the one with the apple on it." Clearly my kids have seen how much I enjoy these books. I hope you enjoy them too. Please don't call me this weekend. I will be busy reading.

A Trip to the Homeland!
July 14-28th we travelled with the kids to the South Pacific. We had a family reunion to go to in Samoa for Damon's family. We spent 4 days on Oahu, 6 days in Samoa and 4 days in American Samoa. We swam with sharks, blazed our own trails through the world's largest maze and hung with the locals at the Polynesian Cultural Center in Hawaii. Samoa brought us to a world where time stands still. It is a beautiful and untouched country. We went to beaches where fish outnumbered people and coconut trees were plentiful. We snorkeled over a coral reef. Our hotel room had a private outdoor bathroom where we got to bath under the stars. American Sa
moa introduced us to a festival that happens only every 4 years in the Pacific Islands called the Pacific Islands Art Festival. We were introduced to islands in the South Pacific that we had never heard of. It was so fun to meet most of Damon's mom's family. The kids were great travellers and enjoyed every experience.
