Noah started school on the 3rd. That was hard. We've always been together for Mommy Camp. I only had two this year. The first week of Mommy camp was spent all over San Diego.
Tuesday we went to Balboa Park. We visited the Science Museum as well as the Natural History Museum. We love Balboa Park.
Wednesday we went to Miramar Lake and rode bikes and scooters. I forgot the camera, but it was a beautiful, warm day.
Thursday we went to La Jolla Shores with our friends, the Woodard's. It was warm and beautiful and hard to believe that it was Jan. 5th. It has been a wonderfully warm New Year.
Friday we waited for Noah and Dad to join us for some fun and we had a picnic on the beach at La Jolla Shores for dinner. The waves were enormous and the sunset was beautiful. It was a fun end to the week.
We love living here. After a January like this, it's going to be hard to live anywhere else. It's been a fun week.

Happy New Year 2012!
New Year's Day! Oh what Fun! Well, New Year's celebrations actually happened on the 2nd of January, but we are just pretending it is the New Year. We had french pancakes and watched the Rose Parade. We had the great trash can race's. We ate lots of fun food. We had an airsoft gun battle and we got to shot some soda and shaving cream cans. Very fun! The girls also fed Momma Buffy. I also got my stitches taken out. Yippie! It was a nice way to start the new year.

New Year's Eve
The madness before the ball dropped at 9pm on the East Coast.
The fun continued after Christmas. We stopped by Mortensen Manor on the way home from Utah and my sister and her husband wanted to keep the kids. So Damon and I enjoyed a few days by ourselves. BYU won their bowl game. Always a plus. On New Year's Eve there was a little something for everyone. There was yummy food, a shooting range, games, Just Dance in the basement and a whole lot of fun. The best was when the boys did a dance to C&C Music Factory's Gonna Make You Sweat. We were laughing so hard when they all started singing the words.
A fun picture from Nana's. The boys watching Pirates in Nana's bed while eating ice cream.

More Chirstmas
We did have a lot of fun in Utah. Here are some more pictures from our trip that we wanted to put on the blog.
It was nice spending Christmas Day with the whole Afualo Family.
Christmas Eve dinner. We did Italian this year. It was a lot of fun.
Nana's new Christmas toy. His name is Tyler. He talks. Lily like to stick so many candy canes in his pants that they would fall off.

Christmas Chaos
Twas the morning of Christmas and all through the house, everyone was stirring even a mouse. (somewhere) The children all woke up as bright as could be in hopes that the presents were many to see. We unwrapped, and unwrapped with cheers of delight. We said Thank you, gave hugs til our sides were to tight. We ate food, went to church, sang some Merry fun carols, made 2 turkeys, two trips to the airport and had filled laughter barrels (hypothetically). It was a Christmas to remember because it was so cold we will not forget it even when we are old. (Yes, another Christmas Poem!)
We did have a great Christmas eve and Christmas day. Our traditional Christmas Eve program was even more fun because Auntie Dara was with us. She was able to join in the silliness. I couldn't play carols to well because of my thumb, but we made the most of it. We watched Santa's travels on Norad and played Christmas games. We also made cookies for Santa and left him some milk.
Christmas was crazy, but it was nice to have all of Damon's family together. Even if it was only for a few hours. Now it's time to bring in the new year!

The Snowmen Family
We did this last year as a family and the kids begged all December to do it again. We wanted to share the making of the snowmen family with Nana and Papa so we waited until we were with them to do it. So here is our snowman making experience.
Papa didn't feel like making the snowman. He just ate it. Out snowmen looked rather like French snowmen this year. We thought that was funny.
Even my cut up, sewn back together thumb couldn't stop me from building the snowman. It did cause some problems though and no one would let me near a knife.
